Mortgage applications up, mortgage loan rates down

Contradicting all expectations, the number of new mortgage loan applications edged up, this week, by 1%, for the second week in a row.
And, good news for buyers: the fixed-rates on mortgage loans have dropped, for the first time in five weeks, to an average of 6.75%.
